Application & technique

Proper substrate preparation is crucial for an optimal result. The surface should be clean, dry, sound and free from grease, oil, dust and loose old paint. Depending on the product, additional sanding or priming may be recommended. You’ll find the exact instructions on the respective product label or in the technical data sheet.

This question is difficult to answer, as we cannot say whether our paint is compatible with the old paint. It’s best to follow the application instructions for our products and, if necessary, carry out a small compatibility test by applying a sample coat in an inconspicuous area.

Our paints are supplied ready to use and do not need to be diluted or mixed. You will find the relevant information in the product’s application instructions.

In general, we recommend applying Baufix stains with a brush. But our Baufix Multispray Wood Stain was developed especially for spray guns.

In principle, Baufix products are coordinated with each other and you can mix them within the same product range.

We cannot accept any liability when combining them with products from other manufacturers.

We recommend always carrying out a compatibility test on a small area or, if in doubt, contacting our customer service. You can use our chat for this.

The pigments in the liquid floor plastic settle at the bottom and must therefore be stirred thoroughly. Stir from the bottom up to bring the pigments to the surface.

Storage & shelf life

Buntlack (colored varnish) or furniture paint Acrylic, chalk, or synthetic resin varnish, depending on the finish you want.

Stored in the unopened original container in a dry and frost-free place, our products will keep for at least 1 year after the purchase date.

On many products, a best-before date is printed on the back under the heading “Storage”.

Yes, please always follow the instructions on the label and in the safety data sheet. Many of our products are water-based and low-odor, but we still recommend ensuring adequate ventilation while working and wearing protective gloves. When spraying, you should also wear respiratory protection. Children and pets should be kept away while the product is being applied.​

Ordering & Shipping

We deliver your desired products within 3–5 working days after receipt of payment.

We usually dispatch your goods within 24 hours. At that point you will receive an email with the tracking number for your parcel and another email with the invoice. The invoice is for your records only.

As our order processing is fully automated, we unfortunately cannot change or cancel your order once it has been received.

Customer service & complaints

Please send us the complaint form, which is available “here”, fully completed and including photos, to our kundenservice@baufix-online.de. We will process your complaint without delay, which may take up to 14 days.

There are products that are manufactured exclusively for discount retailers, so they are not stored by us and are therefore not available in our online shop.
