Why is the choice of tile adhesive so important?
The tile adhesive is the invisible force behind every tile installation. It not only ensures that the tiles adhere to the substrate, but also that they are stable and durable. A poor quality adhesive can lead to detachments, cracks and unevenness, which is not only unsightly, but can also lead to expensive repairs.

Step 1
Mixing the material
Mix the powder and liquid components in the specified mixing ratio of 1:1.
To do this, add the liquid component and stir briefly. Then add the powder component and mix for 3 minutes until homogeneous.

Step 2:
application as scratch filler
Apply 3in1 tile adhesive as a scratch coat and smooth it off with a smoothing trowel.

Step 3:
Application of the 1st waterproofing layer
The first layer of waterproofing is applied to the prepared surface.
Minimum dry layer thickness >1 mm.

Step 4
Inserting joint tapes
In transition and connection areas, the joint tapes are inserted into the still fresh waterproofing without any creases.
Alternatively, the joint tape can also be glued first.

Step 5:
Application of the 2nd waterproofing layer
After the first layer of waterproofing has dried, the second layer of Baufix 3in1 tile adhesive is applied. The inserted joint tapes are completely covered with the second layer of waterproofing.
Minimum total dry layer thickness > 2 mm.

Step 6:
Apply thin-bed adhesive
After the sealant has completely dried (approx. 4 hours, depending on weather conditions), apply it using a suitable notched trowel.
Only apply enough material so that the tiles can be laid before the skin begins to form.

Step 7:
laying tiles
Place the tiles into the fresh adhesive mortar without leaving any gaps.
For outdoor use, we recommend using the buttering-floating method.

Step 8:
grouting
As soon as the surface is walkable (approx. 4 hours, depending on weather conditions), the grouting takes place.
The joint area must be dry.
Apply material to the joints using an epoxy jointing pad. Work in sections to avoid stubborn adhesion of the mortar to the tiles.

Step 9:
pre-cleaning
Pre-clean the mud-covered areas with the coarse cleaning pad and warm water. Squeeze the cleaning pad as firmly as possible over the rollers of the washing bucket in order to work with as little water as possible.

Step 10:
post-cleaning
Follow-up cleaning with a yellow sponge board and clear, warm water. For larger areas, it may be necessary to change the water several times.
Residual film and adhesions can be removed after approx. 24 hours with appropriate cleaners. To do this, apply the material diluted with water and allow to take effect for approx. 10 minutes. If necessary, work with the coarse cleaning paste and remove the cleaner with the sponge board. Rinse the surfaces with clean water.
